Strange turbo(?) noise while accelerating in higher gears
Does anyone know what could be causing this sound when accelerating? The car accelerates fine, maybe a bit slower than it should. However, if I really push it-like in 4th gear at 2.5k RPM, full throttle, on a slight incline-I hear the noise very loudly. And as soon as I release the throttle, the check engine light comes on, and the car goes into safe mode. Restarting the car gets it out of safe mode, but the check engine light stays on for a day or two.
Also diagnostics showed that turbocharger is overboosting, by like 0.5bar. I checked intercooler hoses and one had a small hole in it, I replaced that one. Second one looked fine, but today I saw that it expanding up to like 1.2x it's size when revving in neutral, and the hose is kinda squishy.. Can that be a problem?
Also I have new MAP sensor
And yes, the car in question is Alfa Romeo GT 1.9jtd 16v diesel
