If there are credible threats to influence Congress’s voting as per this article, should the FBI make the info public?
It seems to me that Congresspeople changing their votes because of threats could influence whether people vote for them, in many ways. Not just because people might be critical of their character if they do, but also because the source of the threats could be important information when considering voting for others.
If the FBI is telling only the Senator or rep, “You were threatened to influence your vote,” does that contribute to intimidating them?
Wouldn’t the democratic process be better served by transparency about this? Would our votes be better informed?
