My Dad thinks I'm getting way into catholicism

my dad says that I put my everything when I start a new interest l, wether it's valorant, anime or Catholicism. Like I wanted to go to confession today because I found out that taking the eucharist with mortal sin is a sin (this is not the only reason tho since i haven't gone to confession since I was 7) but my dad didn't give me permission. I just wanted to get this off of my chest so it's ok if you guys don't respond God bless 🙏❤️
