Holy crap FFXVI is pushing all the right buttons for me

I think this will be the next FF I actually finish in its entirety. It's so damn epic, and I only just finished Garuda. Had to pause when I saw Odin and Bahamut about to duke it out(?) and gush about the game here lmao.

My first and favourite is FF7. It's also the only one I've finished so far, but I might actually finish FF16 this time.

I've tried FF3 (3D), 6, 9, 10, 12 (ZA), 13, 15 and Type-0. I do like them a lot, but for some reason, I just don't get sucked in enough to continue till the end. It's not that I don't think they're great games, just that I'm prone to falling off after a while. At one point I'll just put the controller down and stop. Same with other games. Witcher 3, DA:I etc. (Maybe ADHD related)

I'll definitely try them again some other time, but nothing has come close to getting me hooked like 7 as 16 has. The music, the voice acting and the story are chefs kiss.

I'm more of a character > atmosphere/worldbuilding + plot kind of person too so I don't actually mind the linearity of it or the combat system too much.

But man, the visuals and atmosphere of this game. And everyone so far is likeable and/or intriguing. I genuinely felt so bad for Benedikta.

Anyway, just wanted to vent out my hype somewhere. Really enjoying this game a lot.
