There are fewer than 10 trans college athletes in the u.s. why is this a problem?

I see people all day complaining about trans women in women's sports. Setting aside that most of these athletes are trans men in men's leagues, or nonbinary people not taking hormones. The 2 trans women participating aren't even coming close to outperforming their cis competitors.

Why is this a massive social issue that the full force of the u.s. government to solve? Are 2 below average college athletes, really a threat to the integrity of sports? Is forcing trans men who take testosterone, into women's league not a much greater threat to the integrity of sports?
