I don't understand how one person with a triple double average, and top 5 in almost every stat sheet except blocks gets to be number 2 in mvp race. I get that OKC has a higher team standing in the series, but the candidacy is for "most valuable player" and not "most valuable team", so what's up with all these shenanigans? (im genuinely asking and curious as I am not yet familliar about box stat scores thingy)

Don't get me wrong, I like Shai and actually rooted for him to be the mvp last year and I've always seen him as a better Ja Morant in his early days because they have always looked alike when they were younger but my thought process changed as soon as I see Jokic' absurd stats lol
