Elysium Health is a privately-held health company that specializes in the production of proactive health products. The company’s founder, Dr. Leonard Guarente, is the director of MIT’s Glenn Laboratory for the Science of Aging and has a rich background in scientific research. Since its inception in 2014, Elysium Health has been working towards providing consumers with products that work by marrying scientific research and modern technology. These products are designed to be effective at the cellular level to support healthy lives. It has so far succeeded in bringing together some of the brightest scientific minds—including scientists, clinicians, and other professionals—from across the world to work together in developing health products.

Basis

Basis is currently the sole product provided by Elysium Health. The goal of the nutritional supplement is to promote healthy living at the cellular level. Basis does this by increasing and maintaining the levels of NAD+ in those who take the supplement regularly. The daily supplement contains two primary ingredients: a NAD+ precursor known as nicotinamide riboside and a sirtuin activator known as pterostilbene. NAD+ is a coenzyme used in many cellular processes and functions, from circadian rhythm regulation to energy production, and present in all living cells. As we age, NAD+ levels tend to decrease. As a result, the processes and functions that NAD+ is present in can be affected.

NAD+ is designed to be taken by those over the age of 18 years, and is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.

Product Pricing

Pricing for Basis works primarily through subscription plans where the more one commits to (for example, a 12-month plan over a 6-month plan), the lower the cost for the supplement. A single bottle of Basis—a month’s worth of the product—goes for $60. However, a client who buys the same bottle on a monthly basis gets it at a reduced price of $50 per bottle—that represents a 15% discount. If the same client goes for a 6-month purchase, the cost reduces to $45, a 25% discount. This trend continues up to a year purchase where a client pays $ 480 for the whole year. This translates to $40 per bottle or 33% discount. Basis is available on Elysium Health’s website.
